Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit our website. They help us provide you with a better experience by remembering your preferences and enabling certain functionality. We also use similar technologies like local storage and session storage.
2. Cookie Categories
We group cookies and similar technologies into four categories, which are shown as labels on our cookie banner:
Authentication (strictly necessary — always on)
Required for Talklet to function. These keep you securely signed in and protect payment and checkout against fraud. Without them you cannot log in or use core features, so they are always active and cannot be disabled. They are set by Supabase (authentication) and Stripe (payment security). We do not treat these as optional and do not ask for consent to set them, as the service cannot work without them.
Analytics
These help us understand how visitors use Talklet so we can improve the Service. We use Google Analytics 4, loaded through Google Tag Manager. Analytics cookies are set only if you accept them in the cookie banner. Google Analytics 4 is the only analytics provider we use.
Preferences
These remember choices you make, such as your language, timezone, and display settings, so the interface behaves the way you expect. On Talklet these preferences are stored using your browser's local storage rather than third-party cookies, and are set only if you accept non-essential storage in the cookie banner.
Functionality
These support optional features of the Service and remember non-essential state (for example, that you have already seen a particular prompt). On Talklet this is handled through your browser's local storage rather than third-party cookies, and is set only if you accept non-essential storage in the cookie banner.
Advertising
These measure whether a visit that came from a Google ad led to a sign-up. We use Google Ads, loaded through Google Tag Manager. Advertising cookies are set only if you choose Accept All. We do not use them to build advertising audiences or to show you personalised ads.
3. Cookies We Use
The table below lists the cookies actually set when you use Talklet. Analytics cookies are only set after you accept them.

Preferences and functionality are stored using your browser's local storage rather than cookies, and your cookie-banner choice itself is remembered in local storage. We do not use the analytics and advertising cookies listed above to build advertising audiences or to show you personalised ads, and we do not share them with other advertisers.
4. Your Consent and How to Control Cookies
When you first visit talklet.com, we ask for your consent through a cookie banner before any non-essential cookies are set. Strictly necessary cookies (e.g. authentication and security) are always active and cannot be disabled, as the service cannot function without them. Analytics, preferences and functionality cookies are set only if you choose Accept All. Choosing Decline sets none of them. Our banner offers these two choices rather than a per-category selection. You can accept all or decline non-essential cookies, and you can change or withdraw your choice at any time using the 'Change cookie choices' link in the footer of any page. Withdrawing consent also deletes the analytics and advertising cookies already set.
You can also manage cookies through your browser settings, for example to:
- Block all cookies
- Block third-party cookies only
- Delete existing cookies
- Set preferences for specific websites
What happens when you decline. If you choose Decline, no analytics, preferences or advertising cookies are set. Google Tag Manager still loads, but Google Consent Mode tells Google that consent was refused, and Google receives only an anonymous signal that a page was viewed — with no cookie, no identifier and nothing that can be linked back to you or to a later visit.
Note: Disabling strictly necessary cookies may affect the functionality of our website and your ability to use some features, such as logging in.
5. Cookie Duration
Cookies may be either "session" or "persistent" cookies:
- Session cookies: Temporary cookies that expire when you close your browser
- Persistent cookies: Remain on your device for a set period or until you delete them
6. Updates to This Policy
We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or for other operational, legal, or regulatory reasons. We will notify you of any material changes by posting the updated policy on our website.
